Pregnant Women and Swine Flu
Are pregnant women more susceptible to the swine flu (H1N1) virus? This is a question that many pregnant women are answering due to the fact that this pandemic of the H1N1 virus is sweeping the world, and in some cases even taken lives. Many pregnant women are concerned and in fact, this is not an easy question to answer. It is a fact that pregnant women have a weakened immune system when carrying a child, and a large risk of a pregnant woman contracting the H1N1 virus is the fear of it turning into pneumonia, which is also common with pregnant women who catch the regular seasonal flu. Its important for pregnant women to continuously wash there hands and avoid situations or people who appear to be showing symptoms of the swine flu for there own safety.
