As the Seasons Change, So Too Does the Swine Flu

In a matter of five short months, the swine flu has become the most prevalent and deadly form of the flu that we have seen in decades.  This new virus combines three strains of the common flu and appears to be more virulent that experts were expecting.

The flu loves the cold weather, so as the Northern hemisphere enters their coldest time of the year, experts fear that the flu will only continue to gain speed to infect millions of people.

The World Health Organization predicts over the course of two years, nearly one third of the world's population will have experienced symptoms of the flu or have contracted the deadly virus.  Until there is an effective vaccine that has been proven to work, the world may continue to experience at detriment in number of persons who will contract the flu.

However, as the northern hemisphere enters the winter season, the southern hemisphere is just getting over the brunt of the chances of contracting the virus. But that doesn't mean they are off the hook completely.
