As of August 21st, the record number of cases diagnosed in one day lies within the Pacific Ocean waters. The country's total number of infected patients now topples well over 1,847 victims, which includes two deaths.
Many of the Philippino cases are that found in young children, or school students. Eight ninth graders have tested positive in one school district; the deputy director of the school system made the claim saying that the district is making every effort to ensure the safety of the students this school season.
Health Clinics within the school districts have prepared for the worst -- they have taken preventative measures to ensure students' safety. Limited medical supplies has the country concerned, but the health minister believes with proper precautions the children of the country should be safe.
