Most in Need for the Shot

United States Government officials are stating that there will be barely enough flu vaccines this flu season.  Originally the United States was hoping to get 120 million doses, but now there is barely one-third of the predicted amount of vaccines available by the promised date of mid-October.  This is a significant reduction in the original amount of predicted vaccines which was 160 million. 

 

The spokesman for the United States Department of Health and Human Services claims that there will only be 45 million doses available at the start of the season to be administered to high-risk patients.  Because of the minimal number of vaccines available, they will have to be administered in priority order, meaning that people most in need will be the first to get the flu shot.
