The Time Line Of The Swine Flu
Sure we all know that there will be a vaccine for this upcoming season to prevent ourselves from contracting the influenza virus, but not many people know how a vaccine is developed.
The World Health Organization must follow a time line of events. In five months time they recognize the virus and come up with a vaccine to help prevent it from spreading further.
Month One; the WHO identifies the virus as well as starts to prepare the new viruses vaccine strain. Month two; they begin verifying the vaccine strain by applying it to the virus in question. Then at the manufacturer of the vaccine then starts to test the optimal conditions of the vaccine to grow. Once they have successfully tested the conditions of the virus, then they begin to manufacture the vaccine in bulk. By month five they are ready to send the vaccine through clinical trials and finally release it to the public.
