Swine Flu has Hit the Majors!
The Nippon Ham Fighters baseball team in Japan will be tested for the Swine flu this upcoming week. Players and staff members of the team have all come down with the flu-like symptoms. The only confirmed cases thus far are in two of the players and the head coach. Proper precautions are being taken to make sure the rest of the team does not contract the virus.
The Ham Fighters are on the road for the next week, but their games have been cancelled. The major league association has asked the team to remain quarantined in their hotel until their test results come back. It goes on to comment that outfielder Termel Slegde, pitcher Naoki Miyanishi and head coach Junichi Fukura of the Ham fighters are all being treated for the Swine Flu. They remain in stable condition.
