India's Infected with the Swine Flu
As of August 18th - India has detected a total of 99 new cases of the deadly H1N1 influenza virus. With the addition of the 99 patients, the total number of cases that have hit the country are now teetering at a 2,026.
The uneasy part of the 99 new cases from India is that they are very well scattered across the country. They are not centralized in one part of the country -- they are scattered all across the regions of India.
This isn't to say that there are not more people that actually have the flu and don't even know it. Over 10,000 people have been tested -- 1,644 of them were tested positive through contact tracing, while the reset were self reported.
Of the total 2,026 patients in India, 708 of them have been discharged. As of August 18th there were no death cases to be reported.
