Understanding the Bird Flu
The H5N1 virus, more commonly known as the "Bird Flu" is another virus that has once caused similar chaos around the world quite like what the swine flu has caused. The bird flu usually lays dormant inside the intestines of wild birds, and the bird will usually not get sick from contracting this virus. Humans on the other hand, if they come in contact with H5N1 virus, will become very sick, showing symptoms of coughing, eye infections, aches in the joints, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and many other flu like symptoms. Bird flu can be prevented in necessary precautions are taken. For instance, avoiding physical contact with wild birds, and even domesticated birds if they have been in contact with wild birds, or contained in similar cages.
