South Korea experiences its first death from swine flu on August 15, 2009. The man was in his mid 50's and due to complications from the swine flu, and also developing pneumonia. This is the first death to be reported in South Korea and South Korea is taking extreme precautions in trying to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus from spreading and taking any more lives that it already has in South Korea. Since May 2nd, 2009 when South Korea discovered its first case of swine flu, it has had around 2,000 cases since then, with only one case of swine flu resulting in death. It is also said that as swine flu is beginning to die down in the southern hemisphere, that it is beginning to pick up in the Asian countries.
