Polynesia
Local authorities have announced three deaths in French Polynesia as a direct result of swine flu related complications. The archipelago grouping of 115 islands has been severely infected by the swine flu. There have been over 10,000 cases; Rapa being the worst one hit.
This grouping of Islands is owned by France, and already the mother country has sent over supplies to reinforce the spread of the pandemic.
Because these islands are so secluded from the rest of the islands, it is easy to say that the flu will remained contained, however the Polynesian islands remain one of the most popular vacation destination spots in the Pacific Ocean. Tourists are asked to be mindful of the traveling this season.
