Island of Kiribati

As of August 12, there has only been one confirmed case of the Swine flu in Kiribati formerly known as the Gilbert Islands. But if you plan on traveling to this tropical island in the Pacific Ocean, you should consult your doctor to make sure you are most up to date with you vaccines.

Kiribati has been clear of most diseases, but just to be safe, doctors most typically recommend that you receive the following vaccinations: Rubella, Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus - these are all encapsulated by the routine vaccines you usually get from the doctor's office. They also recommend that you get a Hepatitis A vaccine, along with a Hepatitis B and Typhoid.

The island of Kiribati is most certainly clear of any strain of the age old yellow or typhoid fever, but it is a recurring virus that may inhabit it healthy patients.
