The H1N1 Virus in Indonesia

Medical reports have just surfaced in Indonesia -- as of August, 19 another 22 cases have surfaced in Indonesia, putting the total number of cases in Indonesia at 930.

The Center for Disease Control and Environmental Health said that the H1N1 virus has spread to 24 of the 33 provinces in Indonesia.  According to the World Health Organization a total of 1,000 have died out of the 162,000 diagnosed with the swine flu. Four of those deaths have been in Indonesia.

Many experts fear that the H5N1 virus (which was already prevalent in Indonesia) will combine with the H1N1 virus and become even more deadly.  If the viruses do collide we will see a deadly increase of infected patients.
