Haiti Reports their First Cases of the Swine Flu
One more problem put on the table for the country of Haiti is the sudden emergence of the Swine Flu. Haiti confirmed it first three cases of the H1N1 virus in late August 2009. Out of the three cases, two of the cases are Chilean soldiers serving in the United nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. The third case was found in a 23-year-old Haitian Health Minister. But he himself, as the health minister, is happy to report that all of the victims are in stable condition.
Haiti reports that earlier in the month of August, the soldiers returned with another nine people who are also suspected of having the H1N1 virus. However, unlike the soldiers, the Health Minister had not traveled outside the country, nor had contact with the United Nations troops.
