Guyana Health Minister Taking Proper Precautions
As of early June, Guyana has up'ed its alert level. Health Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy said the country is trying to boost means of prevention to contain the outbreak of the flu.
After the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic, the Guyana Health Ministry consistently argued that the emergence of such a pandemic was inevitable -- and now preparedness plans only need to be enhanced to keep up with the changing variables of the flu. Dr. Ramsammy claims that particular attention will be paid to ports of entry. He even goes on to say that he may require that all travellers be subject to a medical examination upon entering the country.
The minister also ensured Guyan's citizens that everyone should abide by good personal hygiene habits to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
