The Cayman Islands Try to Prepare for the Flu
The Cayman Islands are preparing for the impending surge of the swine flu. They are most concerned that its almost time for school to start, and there is still no known vaccine for this life-threatening virus.
The medical officer of the British Caribbean said that the government is putting forth efforts to warn their citizens of the highly contagious flu pandemic. So far, the government has launched an email hotline which will allow the public to get responses to their questions promptly. And most recently a 24-hour telephone hotline was created to serve the same purpose to citizens who do not have Internet access.
In preparation of the school season starting, the government is also trying to get their hands on enough vaccinations to serve all school children this fall.
