Older cases of the Swine Flu in Bhutan
In the past month two more Bhutanese citizens have tested positive for the newest strain of the influenza virus. The country's infected total has now risen to six total citizens.
The influenza-testing center at the hospital has also witnessed an increase in patients all looking for testing or vaccines. Unfortunately vaccines are not yet out of the trial stages thus there are no type specific vaccines that can be administered to the general public as of yet.
These swine flu cases are quite unlike other documented cases because the last two cases appeared in older people. One 65-year-old man as well as a 30-year-old man both tested positive at a local hospital for contracting the swine flu virus. Neither of the patients have any travel history, so how they contracted the virus remains a mystery among health professionals.
