Belgium is up on Vaccine Making

On August 10, 2009 -- Belgium hospitals began testing the newest anti-H1N1 vaccines.  Novartis began developing the first batch of vaccines this past June when the World Health Organization declared the flu as a pandemic.  Novartis is continuing to test its vaccine on patients in Britain, Belgium, Germany and the United States.

The race continues in Belgium pharmaceutical companies to produce a vaccine that can be widely distributed come the fall. The World Health Organization released information concerning the new virus as hard to make because the viruses within the swine flu are not growing enough of a key ingredient.  Novaris has been asked to produce a new set of viruses in order for vaccine makers to use to produce an effective vaccine.
