There is no mistaking that cigarette smoking and excessive drinking habits are bad for you, but eating too many sweets are not too far behind in detrimental to your health habits. The majority of sweets are made from refined sugars which means there is absolutely no nutritional value to them.
Sure, sweets are tasty, but the refined sugars found in them have the potential of building up in your blood and once it enters your blood, you cannot do anything about it. After a significant amount stores up in your bloodstream, it turns into fat - which in turn causes weight gain.
Refined sugar, in large amounts also causes havoc within your energy levels - they tend to give you an intense surge of energy followed by a huge slump. This rapid energy change can cause headaches as well as excessive perspiration, or in some extreme cases Type II Diabetes.
