What is Quercetin?
Quercetin is most commonly found in the skins of apples and onions -- it is made up of a phytochemical coloring compound which gives the apples and onions their colors.
But quercetin is more than just color, it is a powerful antioxidant as well. It can also play the role of an anti-histamine and an anti-inflammatory. Recent studies have even suggested that the colorful phytochemical can even prevent cancer.
Other benefits of qeurcetin include helping to relieve allergy symptoms, reducing pain due to arthritis, and it has been proven to also reduce fatigue, depression and anxiety. So the old adage: "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away", may in fact be true.
To get your hands on quercetin, increase your intake of apples and red onions, or you can look for dietary supplements that include quercetin.
