New York Schools Close their Doors
School hasn't even started yet, and already there are three schools that have closed their doors in Queens, New York. Experts say that hundreds of students have already come down with flu-like symptoms, and instead of taking the risk experts would rather nip the issue in the bud hoping that they can contain the spread of the swine flu.
Mayor Bloomberg has made the decision based on the evidence provided, however he warns city dwellers that the symptoms found in these children are very similar to that of the seasonal flu, but to be safe he thought it would be best to shut them down until they have been properly sanitized.
The New York Health Department was quick to re-emphasize the point that there are yet to be any reported swine-flu related deaths, but all efforts should be made to prevent this from happening.
