Swine Flu in San Diego County
Since the Swine Flu pandemic started earlier this year, there have been a total of 1,014 reported cases in San Diego county. Since June, there have been 16 Swine Flu related deaths in San Diego county.
The Health and Human Services Agency reported the last three cases this morning -- a 32 year old man, a 33-year-old woman, and a 14-year-old woman, who was suffering from a chronic illness as well.
These deaths mark the oldest victims in the Swine Flu pandemic so far. Scientists believe the Swine Flu is more prone to infecting the younger people, so when these cases presented themselves, medical professionals were somewhat shocked.
County health officials urged members of the public to stay indoors if they feel symptoms of the flu. And those people who have existing medical conditions should contact their doctor right away.
