Energy

"The Cycle of the Flu"

Energy is something that we all take advantage of, many times we are not even sure the source of our energy.  But believe it or not, our energy sources are all man powered.  In fact over 50% of the United States' energy supply is fed by coal.

With the threat of an influenza pandemic, coal miners who are kept in close contact with one another are one of the highest at risk to contract this virus.  But if they get sick, this can be detrimental to how the rest of us live, and how we may be even more susceptible to getting the influenza ourselves.

Coal is an energy source that is mostly used to heat our homes. So if the coal industry suffers an employment dip, then our heat supply will be decimated.  And if our heat supply is decimated, the easier it will be for the rest of the world to contract the virus as well.

This devastating cycle will only continue, so it is imperative that you take care of yourself this season.
